A fuse board does not need to be replaced due to its age. If after an electrical condition report reveals that the wiring or fuse board poses a safety hazard, then it may require replacing.
If you have an old fusebox you will also have old wiring. Old wiring is not necessarily unsafe due to age; however old wiring will have been used and may have sufficient deterioration to pose a hazard. New fuse boards have switches that are extremely sensitive and with deterioration may not accept the wiring, meaning a rewire may also be necessary.
If the wiring is deemed safe, only the fuse board will need replacing.
